Here’s what our “Tasters” thought. Click the Names to find out more about them.

Zero : What’s that - a 3 hour open bar? Yes of course we’re going there. Thank you Stoli.

Virgin: Because of the alcohol incentive tonight, the little area they sectioned off in the back of the hotel was not surprisingly very crowded. The space itself was nice, albeit a little dark. The stage in the back provided an nice elevation for the DJ and also served as a backdrop for the projector. Images of the “Storyboard” project from Tumblr could be seen on this.

Zero : Some of the tasters had difficulty getting in because of the whole RSVP aspect but the list guy was nice enough to let them pass. We were just so nice about the whole thing though. This probably helped with us getting in.
And now on to the drinks !

One of the beverages on hand was a spicy cocktail being offered from Stoli. It was sweet to go down and then had a slight kick to it at the end. Tasted like cinnamon hard candy. Interesting.
Virgin: Out of sheer luck, we managed to find a set of seats on the couch by the stage. This became our crows nest for the rest of the evening. Keeping with the Storyboard celebration, iPads were laid out on the tables so people could scroll through the Tumblr blog. For obvious reasons, they were kept tied down with a security device. This didn’t stop sticky alcohol fingers from smudging up the screen though.

Lots of other goodies were left out on the table like blank pocket notepads and an assortment of pins. As you can see, Virgin took a bunch.

Later on in the night when things began to slow down, a guy came by and started unlocking all the iPads and taking them away. We all looked at him and he said “I’m stealing these.” We weren’t sure if he was being serious or he was just an employee messing around. If he really was making a snatch, no one would have probably noticed.

SWIRL: The music here was pretty throw away. Not that it was bad, but it was more of background noise for all the networking and chatting going on around us. Kinda felt bad for the DJ as she was just playing tunes and seemed bored at times.

Zero : We ended up chatting with the people who were also on the couches with us. I tried to get TasteYourParty working on the iPad but because of the security lock, we couldn’t get the home button to work. I spend a good hour trying to access the site before finally giving up and logging in. I was worried I might forget to log out and that someone would mux with us.

SWIRL: Since I can’t dance I’m going to drink ( downs about 5 really strong gin and tonics )
Virgin: Me too ! ( Drinks the same )
Zero : Thanks to the bartenders for being so heavy handed with their pours. Usually when there’s an open bar, they tend to fill it up to a minimal and then drown the rest of the drink in ice and non-alcoholic mix. Tonight it was like they were pouring that vodka because it was about to expire !
I had to carry Virgin home.
