Tasting “NC-17” @ Lit Lounge Basement

Lit Louge is a dive rock bar located in the St. Marks area. It also has a basement lounge where tonight’s festivities were taking place. Party started at 11 pm with an open vodka bar at 12 am. Before that, beer and mixed drinks were about $7.

virGIN: There were some bands still playing when the party was supposed to start at 11. It was $6 to see the bands. It was funny to watch people walk down the thin metal staircase, probably here the cover to get in, and then walk back up. I think a lot of them just left altogether. The ground level area of Lit Lounge was your typical dive bar. Looked kinda trashy, pretty low lit with the exception of what looked like Halloween lights, and a questionably dark bathroom. Downstairs was no exception in terms of “looks” but they did have very convenient couches and sitting spots scattered throughout the dungeon like setting. I got to say, this place tonight was a sausage fest if I’ve ever seen one. And all the guys looked exactly the same! Every guy who was not there with a girl was wearing a hoody and a baseball cap. Seriously. Did we miss something with the dress code? Sadly this place was not too entertaining and we left at 2 am.
earlyBIRD: Well it seemed like we were standing around waiting with some other groups of people to get it. Like virGIN mentioned, some of those people attempted to get in downstairs and then left because a band was still playing. I would say that there was a decent number of people there on time for the party. I guess if you like a punctual crowd then it worked out. But really just a whole bunch of dudes?
SWIRL: 2 couples were getting down to it on the dance floor but that was it. Pretty sad although they looked like they were have fun. Couple of bros were entertaining each other with small dance moves but that was really the extend of it.
WHY WE WOULD COME BACK FOR SECONDS
- Open bar at 12 but doesn’t last exactly for an hour. We each got two vodka drinks out of it.
- Has potential to be a dirty, sexy dance party if more girls showed up.
WHY WE WOULD SEND IT BACK
- If clean is your thing then you’ll probably be turned off by the trasy look of things.
- I’m pretty sure the couple ahead of me who went into the bathroom had a “quickie” in there.
- The enticement of NC-17 brought WAY too many guys to this place.
- Kinda boring with people just standing around. Did things pick up after 2 am?
