Tasting “The Gallery” @ Dream Downtown - Halloween 2011
Monday October 31st, 2011
This party was presented by Nur Khan, Nur Khan, Mazdak Rassi, and Milk Studios.
Headlining DJ was Mark Ronson.
“The Gallery” is a large private even space located inside of the Dream Downtown Hotel. The Monday Night Halloween Party started at 10 PM and was also running along side of Heidi Klum’s Halloween Party located at PH-D in the same hotel. Word to all the cheap skates out there. A Gin and Tonic plus a Vodka Cranberry ran at $30. Coat check was $4 per item. No combining items.

* My Spidey sense is tingling !
Here’s what our “Tasters” thought. Click the Names to find out more about them.

virGIN: How to navigate for all the other party virGINS to the Dream Downtown - This place was a little confusing in terms of trying to get inside. Ok the front door was for Heidi’s party. That’s fine. So we had to go down what looked like a parking exit ramp to a different entrance to the left of the front entrance. Once inside we were being directed to go all over. Even though we only had Grey wristbands somehow we were ushered upstairs to PH-D. Obviously we were at the wrong party sans the Red wristbands. Ok back downstairs with the help of a friendly staffer who knew we looked lost! Ok now we’re at “The Gallery” !
Wow this place is really big. Oh look they’re playing horror scenes on projectors. How cute! After we drink up it’s time to dance. The music was GREAT. Even though we got there at 10 PM the tunes were so good I didn’t mind that only select groups of people were dancing while the rest were aimlessly standing around and staring at all the costumed attendees. We didn’t stay to hear Mark Ronson I think, but whoever was spinning from 10 to 12 you had my attention the whole time ( If you know who please drop us a line! )

earlyBIRD: Yes! Lots of people arriving on time like me! Like virGIN mentioned it was a little confusing trying to navigate around and find “The Gallery”. Especially with all the other patrons who were kind of as lost as we were. Are you all virGINS to the Downtown Dream Hotel too? This place was like a warehouse rave for adults who don’t want to got out to Brooklyn and be surrounded by drug induced 16 year olds. And I mean that in a good way cuz the place was great! I really liked what the DJ was spinning when we got there. Usually places have guys that people probably aren’t listening to when you arrive on time but his transitions were excellent and seamless. I appreciate a good DJ who can make 2 hours feel like one awsome song. Because we left earlyBIRD style we didn’t hear Mark Ronson but considering how much I liked the opening act it was fine by me.
